Amazing population of Seoul! Although we are living in the most biggest city in the world, I am not proud of it. It just makes us to think us as a crowded, terrible city with bad environment. I wish the president can fix the population problem.

My friend Alex

Ah! How I miss my friend, Alexander whom I lost touch with. I found the card that friends wrote for me when I was returning to Korea. As I went on through the card, I suddenly found Alexander´s name on the list. His name was written very big than other kids; as if he was John Hancock signing on the declaration of independence. As I looked through the card of his, my memory of Alexander started to sprout up like Jack´s beanstalk. If I climb the memory beanstalk, the thing that I most remember is that he was a Japanese-American and suprisingly, his last name was Lee, same as me. He had few friends; I still don´t get the answer why. When I first stepped in to the class, I assume that Alexander was surprised by me because we were same Asians. Also, my Thailand friend; Bhum(We´re still contacting with email) was also surprised by me. Alexander introduced me to teachers. He told me everything about this school. Since I never ate in the Cafeteria before, so I asked him, ″Alexander, how do I get lunch?″ Then he kindly replied ″Go in to the cafeteria and get a plastic fork, then a milk, and the plate. If you just slide it across, the ladies will put food on it. After eating, you can play outside. Let´s play together.″ I was really thankful not for just the information but also being friends. Because I am bad at making friends, I worried about it all the time. I think the thing that we were both asians were a part of things that made us friends.
          Asian parents are famous for making kids study. From that, we had common interests or characteristics. We both loved reading books; we read the most books in our class, if I see in the book-reading list. We also got good grades and studied quite well. We always got 95 points or higher in Spelling tests. In addition, because American math was so easy, my teacher made me and Alexander to study seperately from other kids; Algebra. That made us tied more by talking and debating about math. Also we liked talking. We talked about our cultures or daily life. We were best friends tied together with these bridges we were connected with.
          When we were talking, there was one situation that made me and him far. When we were talking about our cultures, he said ″Do you know that Japan colonized Korea?″ Because of my nationalism, I got angry but I pressed my anger down and just replied like this, ″Let´s not talk about this. I hate to talk about our bad history.″ We forgot about this conversation and just stayed friends. When our friendship started to come back, I left the United States. He said a heartwarming farwell. ″Let´s see again in the future with success.″ I replied, ″Yes, Indeed. Farwell.″ When I asked him his email, he didn´t have one. I just had to plant him on my brain.
             I folded the card and started wondering what happened to Alexander. So I decided to email my American teacher and ask. Although it is already over an year since I lost touch with him, his memory is still in my memory and will be left forever. I hope I can see him succeeded in the future as we promised.

I read almost all of Roald Dahl’s books selling in Korea. Although the titles might show a little childish, but it is not. His imagination is so great. His books are loved by everyone.

My favorite book of his is the “Going Solo”. Although it is non fiction, it is not solid at all. It is actually fun and more realistic which leads to being exciting.

Firefighters at the site of a bombing of a Hamas security compound. The attack was aimed mostly at security headquarters, training compounds and weapons storage facilities, Israeli military officials said.

Waves of Israeli aircraft swooped over the Gaza Strip on Saturday, firing missiles at Hamas’s security headquarters and killing more than 200 people. Smoke billowing from the bombs could be seen from Rafah.

Palestinians carried an injured man. The air attack came after days of warnings by Israeli officials that Israel would retaliate for intense rocket and mortar fire against Israeli towns and villages by Hamas and other militant groups in Gaza.

An injured man struggled at the Hamas police headquarters. Most of the dead and wounded were members of the security forces of Hamas, the Islamic group that controls Gaza, but a few civilians were also among the dead, including children.

A member of the Hamas security forces was killed in the strike. “Hamas was warned a few times in a variety of ways, but I can’t elaborate on the warnings,” said Maj. Avital Leibovich, a spokeswoman for the Israeli military.

Happy new year everyone! It’s already 2009! It’s the cow’s year. This year makes me 14 in Korean age. Time is going very fast to me nowadays. It feels like my first day of school was yesterday. It is also my 3rd year of CDI. The thing that sorrows me is graduating elementary school this February. No more playing anymore. Oh No! I really do hope I go to the good middle school between 2 middle schools I can go in my district. If I look back in to my 6 years of elementary school, I had lots of good memories, such as 3 sleep overs and playing with my friends every day; which is rarely going to happen for the 10 years of my future. Anyways, with hope, I want to study well, be healthy and be more optimistic of my future and prepare for the future. Good luck for 2009!

My Dream

My dream is a diplomat; who represents their country. Why? I’d like to represent my country and visit other countries; I love my country. I want to make a peaceful world without any countries left behind. Because of that, I like Seo Hee. Seo Hee was a Korean Diplomat in the Koryeo Dynasty. He made a peaceful discussion with Chinese people, which made people of China and Korea both happy. I want to be a Kor-UN diplomat and make Korea’s diplomatic relationships peaceful and get the peaceful treaties and plans of UN to Korea. I will have to learn many other foreign languages and read lots of books. I also will have to upgrade my debating skills in CDI.
